24 October 2018 by Helm Construction
Plans for Cribbs Causeways large development were given the go-ahead on 12th October.
The approved Planet Ice Rink will become the Bristol’s first since the permanent rink on Frogmore Street was closed 6 years ago. In addition to this other developments planned include an iFly indoor sky diving centre, ski slope, a Jaguar Land Rover showroom, amongst others.
Helm’s Commercial Manager, Chris Catley sharing his views on the approved plans said; “It is an exciting opportunity for the whole of Bristol, after the delay in approval there were concerns that this might only ever be an idea. However, we are thrilled that it now has been given the green light.”
Continuing, “It was disappointing for the city to lose our Frogmore Street rink in 2012, nevertheless it seems ice skating and ice hockey are coming back to Bristol! Reports that 120 construction jobs and 240 permanent jobs will be generated from the build are also fantastic for our local economy”.
