Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) have revealed that August brought about a third month of increase in construction output.
In contrast to the industry’s poor start to 2018, a summer of hot weather has helped a large recovery period. Once again the output rise was led by house building which increased by £442million, other sectors in the industry that were big in increasing productivity were housing repairs and infrastructure.
Adam Marks, Finance Director stated “We are obviously delighted for our industry to see yet another month of output increase. ONS latest statistics tell us that the rise was 2.9% in the 3 months that built up to August with figures up by £1.156billion.”
Finishing Adam said, “The next challenge is making sure that these 3 months are not just a one-off, for our industry to thrive it must become the norm.”
