West builders look to cement connections over bridge

Fast growing Bristol builders Helm Construction are hoping the Government decision to scrap Severn Bridge tolls a year earlier than expected will bring further business opportunities in the South Wales region.
Chief Executive Gary Sheppard said: “We welcome the announcement as it will improve development opportunities in the South Wales region not just for us but for many businesses.
It will also make life easier for our staff. A number of our team commute in from South Wales and this will ease their financial burden by more than £1,000 per annum.
“We forecast that there will be a rise in house prices in the area around Chepstow as a result, with more people prepared to commute in from the other side of the Severn.
“We could well find that some businesses will move their offices over to South Wales where commercial property is currently cheaper than Bristol and surrounds.”
