A traditional build, two storey concrete block of 8 flats and 1 maisonette are to replace the former Williams Auto garage situated off of Fishponds Road. Access to the site was very restrictive due to the narrow lane entrance that is situated between blocks of flats and is the only way to access the site. At times there were unknown vehicles blocking the entrance and pedestrians leaving their cars parked in the private lane which proved difficult when trying to manage deliveries and bring in larger vehicles such as cranes.
Deliveries were timed and scheduled in a way to cause little disruption to the adjoining main road and surrounding neighbours. This was also to avoid other delivery lorries getting stuck on site as there was only one narrow entrance. Careful liaison with the neighbours was also of importance in order to build a positive relationship and also to ensure their vehicles were parked safely and to avoid any other disruptions to the surrounding areas.
Currently in the final stages of the build process, the Fishponds development is running smoothly and ahead of its 59 week schedule. The finished properties will come with full gas central heating, underfloor heating, and solar panels to the roof. There is also a private entrance with electric gates for added security.
We have always been the main contractor on our past developments but Helm have made this project so easy for us, a professional team, ahead of schedule and on budget. We are already preparing our next project with them.
