Project: Demolition of garages and construction of new dwelling
Client: Mr Nick Lawrence
Contract Value: £241,000
Helm were given the task of demolishing the existing vacant garages to allow for the construction of a new modern dwelling whilst incorporating a new office space into the build. Due to its central location, parking was very much an issue as well as having restricted space for material storage due to its small size.
As there were only two parking spaces on site, contractors and other site staff had to drop off their materials in the morning and park away from site thereafter. Arrangements were made with another Helm site locally to allow contractors to park there as parking was less restricted there. Materials were planned carefully, only ordering what was needed at that time, do avoid a build up of materials and allow for site to be kept clean and safe.
Once complete, Frederick Place will be a beautiful detached house with three large bedrooms, two bathrooms, a garage and a winter garden/ courtyard. The home will feature its own sauna as well as underfloor heating throughout and an open plan kitchen and living room area set over two levels on the ground floor. The brickwork has been intricately designed and are a notable feature of the property, alongside the high quality velfac doors and windows and 8 large solar panels that have been installed on the roof. Another interesting feature is the 3m x 1m piece of glass situated in the ceiling of what will be the Client’s studio office. The final touches to the property including the decoration will be finished by the Client, Mr Nick Lawrence.
