Client briefing: The Project brief was to completely renovate and extend an existing dwelling.
Helm Approach: The works included taking the original part of the building back to its shell and constructing a new ‘cut’ roof to accommodate a second floor.
There was a great deal of asbestos that had to be dealt with and existing steel infrastructure and had to be cut and adjust in situ. The project provided for underfloor heating, a solar photovoltaic system and a heat recovery and air source heating system. Extended multifold external doors to the rear of the property provided uninterrupted views across South Gloucestershire.
Job done: The project was delivered on time and within budget.
We were really pleased with the finished result. From their vast experience Helm were able to recommend improvements to our design and overcome issues identified with the existing structure. They were sensitive to our budget and have produced a building that is of very high quality that we are proud to call our home.
